DESCRIPTION:

If you are looking for elegance and beauty, you have found it! This piece of Native American jewelry is Zuni hand crafted by artist Effie Calavaza, out of genuine sterling silver, real Turquoise inlay, and man made Opal stones. The watch has a total of EIGHT stones, FOUR of which are delicately placed in hand cut bezel settings in the midst of TWO gorgeous silver snake designs, while the other FOUR stones are inlaid and create the snakes eyes. Imprinted designs and silver beads can be seen accenting the snake designs for a magnificent finish. The snake is found in many healing and fertility rituals. It is also connected with lightning, speed, and being able to move undetected. We provide you with a complementary watch face and stretch band. The watch tips are stamped Zuni and hallmarked by the artist.

Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is birthstone of October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

I saw a very similar bracelet in a shop in Santa Fe, NM but it was much too pricey for me. I thought I would never have such a beautiful piece of Navajo history and culture. I came home from my vacation, found this website and ordered this lovely bracelet

I looked over the selection many times before deciding on my selection. i was concerned about the ring looking as it did in the photo and the size being true. i was pleasantly surprised on both accounts, the ring looked much better in real life.
