DESCRIPTION:
This chain necklace is a Navajo classic! In this set, the pendant is hand crafted by artist Lee Shorty, out of authentic sterling silver and a real Turquoise stone. The stone is carefully set in a hand cut bezel, while hand crafted silver work creates a wonderful coyote head design. A silver flower, scalloped leaf designs, and 2 silver feather can be seen complimenting the pendant for an elegant finish. Feathers are symbols of prayers, marks of honor or sources of ideas. They represent the Creative Force. Arrows usually signify direction of travel, force, and movement. The pendant is stamped .925 (sterling) and hallmarked.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
