This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Sharon McCarthy, out of authentic sterling silver and man made Opal. A total of TWO stones (ONE in each earring) are precisely laid in hand cut bezel settings, while being accented with hand cut silver work that create wonderful silver flower and leaf designs for a gorgeous look. The earrings are stamped sterling and hallmarked.

Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Sanskrit word "Upala" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
