DESCRIPTION:

You will absolutely fall in love with this stunning pendant! This piece of Native American jewelry is Zuni hand crafted by artist R. Kallestewa, out of genuine sterling silver and real multicolor inlay. The inlay consists of: real Jet, Mother of Pearl, and Brown Shell. The inlay is gently set, creating a wonderful design of an Owl for a gorgeous finish. The Zuni and Keres Pueblo tribe believe that the Owl is respected as the guise of the spirits of the departed leaders and wise elders. The owl is a skillful, silent hunter that is connected with darkness and night as well as keen eyes. The pendant is signed Zuni and by the artist.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
