This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted, by artist Thomas Yazzie, out of authentic sterling silver and man made Pink Opal. The stone is carefully laid in a hand cut bezel, while mini silver beads and silver work can be seen highlighting the ring for a gorgeous look. The ring is stamped sterling and hallmarked by the artist.
Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is birthstone of October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
