DESCRIPTION:

Excellent craftsmanship is shown throughout this amazing Turquoise pendant! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted, by artist Marita Benally, out of authentic sterling silver and TWO real Turquoise stones. The stones are delicately placed in hand cut bezels, while being accented with twisted silver, mini silver beads, and hand cut silver for a phenomenal look. The pendant is hallmarked.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

“ I own a full set of items for men by Effie Calavaza: bolo and ring bought in Santa Fe (both of them fairly old), and a buckle and wristwatch bought from Native American Jewelry. The buckle I purchased from NAJ recently was splendid, but the wristwatch that came a few days ago was of inferior workmanship and material, done I suspect by one of Effie's daughters. Nevertheless, I intend to keep using NAJ. ”
