DESCRIPTION:
We bring to you this adorable necklace set! This piece of Native American jewelry is Zuni hand crafted by artist K. Etsate, out of genuine sterling silver and real multicolor inlay. The inlay consists of: Coral, Opal, Lapis, Malachite, and White Shell. The necklace has a total of THREE links, The Opal is hand carved to look like individual pieces of corn, then it is gently placed into a corn shaped silver setting. In the Opal, other stones can be seen resembling different colors of corn. Mini silver beads, twisted silver, and hand crafted silver work can be seen accenting for a gorgeous finish. The corn is a powerful symbol in many tribes. It is used for prayer of fertility and a good growing season. The necklace is signed by the artist and signed Zuni. The earrings perfectly match the necklace for a delightful look. The earrings are stamped Zuni and hallmarked by the artist.
Corals are known to be very soothing and very protective. Coral is of an organic origin; it is the skeletal remains of marine animals called Coral Polyps. Colonies of these tiny creatures build branching structures as they grow, gradually forming reefs and atolls.
Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
