DESCRIPTION:

This belt buckle is a true treasure! This piece of Native American jewelry is Hopi overlay hand crafted by artist George Phillips, out of genuine sterling silver. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this belt buckle, the second layer forms gorgeous Sun And Corn Stalk designs that gives the piece a fantastic finish. In Native American beliefs, the sun is the provider of life, warmth, growth, and all that is good. Corn is a powerful symbol in many tribes. It is used for prayer of fertility and a good growing season. The belt buckle is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
