Belt buckle measures approximately 2" long, 3" wide, and will fit a belt that is up to 1-1/2" wide.
This belt buckle is a Hopi classic! This piece of Native American jewelry is Hopi overlay hand crafted by artist George Phillips out of genuine sterling silver. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this belt buckle, the second layer forms a magnificent Kokopelli, Prayer Sticks, Water Wave, Corn Stalk, and border pattern designs that gives the piece a stunning look. The Kokopelli is a common fertility symbol throughout the Southwest. In Native American beliefs, the Kokopelli visits various communities, seducing and impregnating the young women drawn to the tones of his flute playing. The water waves design represents continuous life. Belt buckle is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
