DESCRIPTION:

Take advantage of the great price on this amazing necklace set! This Native American jewelry set is Zuni hand crafted and strung by artist D. Edaakie, out of genuine sterling silver real and real multicolor inlay. The inlay consists of: Turquoise, Coral, Jet, Abalone Shell, along with White and Yellow Mother of Pearl. The inlay is gently set, while creating exquisite bird designs, that include a hummingbird, owl, cardinal, and blue jay. The necklace is composed of one Naja (the crescent-shaped large center pendant) and double strands of 6-mm silver eccentric beads that are placed at regular intervals among the round side of the center. The Naja is set with ONE inlaid hummingbird while each side of the necklace has FOUR inlaid birds. Entire traditional necklace is flexible "not stiff". Hummingbirds are mainly known to be defenders of their territory. Many times stronger than their small size would indicate. The Zuni and Keres Pueblo tribe believe that the Owl is respected as the guise of the spirits of the departed leaders and wise elders. The owl is a skillful, silent hunter that is connected with darkness and night as well as keen eyes. The post earrings have a total of TWO inlaid hummingbirds (ONE in each earring) that perfectly match the necklace, for an incredible finish. The necklace and earrings are hallmarked by the artist.

Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.

Corals are known to be very soothing and very protective. Coral is of an organic origin; it is the skeletal remains of marine animals called Coral Polyps. Colonies of these tiny creatures build branching structures as they grow, gradually forming reefs and atolls.
