Sterling Silver and man made Blue Opal.
Pendant measures approximately 2-1/8" long (including bail) and 1" at widest point.
This pendant is a Navajo classic! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted, by artist Henry Attakai, out of genuine sterling silver and a man made Blue Opal stone. The stone is gently placed in a hand cut bezel setting, while hand cut silver work creates an adorable tear drop shape for a perfect finish. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked.
Most people know Opal for its distinctive play of color, it is a semi-transparent solidified mineral composed of silicon and water, and it gets its name from the Latin word "Oplus" meaning precious stone. Opal is the birthstone for October. It is believed to release self-consciousness allowing spontaneous action, and awakens psychic and mystical qualities.
