Pot measures approximately 1-1/4" tall, 1-7/8" wide and is 2-5/8" long (front to back).
This beautiful style of Navajo art is called horse hair pottery because actual horse hair is added to the pottery at just the right moment in the firing process to melt the hairs into the pottery, creating unique and incredible designs. This adorable Native American pot was hand etched and painted with incredible traditional patterns and water wave designs, by Navajo artist Marilina Sam, creating a turtle for a fabulous finish.
In Native American beliefs, the water waves design represents continuous life. The turtle represents strength, female power, and fertility. The turtle is also considered to be able to defy death.
