Pot measures approximately 9-1/2" tall, 8-1/8" wide and is 27-1/4" in circumference (around its widest point).
This beautiful style of Navajo art is called horse hair pottery because actual horse hair is added to the pottery at just the right moment in the firing process to melt the hairs into the pottery, creating unique and incredible designs. This Native American pot was hand etched and painted with a phenomenal Bear design and other traditional patterns, by Navajo artist Larry Livingston. The pottery is signed by the artist.
In Native American beliefs, the bear symbolizes physical strength, leadership, and is known as the "first helper".
