DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful piece of Navajo artistry! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by artist Alonzo Mariano, out of genuine sterling silver. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this pendant, the second layer forms beautiful Kokopelli and Water Wave designs. Stamped patterns and mini silver beads accent the pendant for a goregous finish. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked by artist.
The Kokopelli is a common fertility symbol throughout the Southwest. In Native American beliefs, the Kokopelli visits various communities, seducing and impregnating the young women drawn to the tones of his flute playing. In Native American beliefs, the water waves design represents continuous life.
